Can Haj pilgrims carry Rs. 2000 notes? CEO of Central Haj Committee issues circular

Hyderabad: CEO of Central Haj Committee, Dr. Maqsood Ahmed Khan in the circular issued by Haj committed has clarified that there is no ban on Rs. 2000 Indian currency notes in Saudi Arabia.

He also said that as per Foreign Exchange Management Regulation Act. 2015, Haj pilgrims can carry the permitted amount in Indian currency. Reserve Bank of India has also informed the Central Haj Committee that there is no ban on this currency note in Saudi Arabia.

Executive Officer of Telangana State Haj Committee, Prof. S.A. Shukoor informed the Haj pilgrims that they should not get panicky about it.
