CBI files charge-sheet against Muzaffarpur horror accused

Patna: The CBI has filed a charge-sheet in a special court naming all accused in the infamous Muzaffarpur shelter home rape case, including jailed key accused Brajesh Thakur, an official said on Wednesday.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which is probing the Muzaffarpur shelter home case, filed a charge-sheet in special POCSO court.

“A charge-sheet has been filed by the CBI against all accused,” an official said.

Meanwhile, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has issued notices to Brajesh Thakur’s wife Asha Thakur and son Rahul Anand. Both have been summoned to Patna for interrogation on December 24 and December 26 in connection with the case.

Of the 42 girls lodged at the short-stay home run by the Brajesh Thakur’s NGO, 34 were found to have been sexually assaulted. The crime came to light following a social audit by the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai, over six months ago. The Supreme Court is monitoring the CBI probe into the case.
