This scheme is named “Shaadi Shagun”. Details of the scheme will be made available on the website which is being developed by Maulana Azad Educational Foundation.
It is to be noted that the “Shaadi Shagun” amount will be given only to those graduate Muslim girls who have received MAEF scholarship earlier.
In an attempt to encourage Muslim girls to pursue higher education, the decision was taken by Maulana Azad Educational Foundation which works under the National Commission for Minorities.
Shakir Hussain Ansari, MAEF treasurer said that still many Muslim girls are deprived of higher education mainly due to financial limitations. Keeping this in view, Rs. 51000 wedding gift is decided, he added.
