Chant ‘India India’ not ‘Rohit Rohit’, says Rohit Sharma to Indian supporters

India’s top-order batsman Rohit Sharma was the main star for the hosts in their 224-run win against West Indies at the Brabourne Stadium in the 4th ODI.

He played a knock of 162 runs, looked set to hit his fourth double century in ODIs, but Ashley Nurse dismissed him and at the end of the Indian innings India managed to put up a massive total of 377-5.

During the second innings when West Indies were chasing a target, Rohit Sharma was fielding near the boundary rope, fans started chanting ‘Rohit Rohit’ after which he gestured by showing the India jersey asking them to chant ‘India India’ instead.

Team India now lead the five-match series 2-1 and will look to seal the series when the two teams come head-to-head during the fifth and final ODI in Thiruvananthapuram on Thursday.
