Chicago shootings reached 44 in just 14 hours

Chicago city has been witnessing shooting cases at alarming numbers and recently hunting down the criminals on Sunday led to a shooting of 44 people.

According to Police records, in the three hours firing between the criminals and the police which began at 1:30 a.m., as many as 30 were shot and two killed in 10 incidents, pix11.com reported.

“The city of Chicago experienced a violent night,” said Bureau of Patrol Chief Fred Waller on Sunday afternoon.

“Some of these instances were targeted and were related to gang conflicts in those areas,” adding that in one of the incidents the shooters opened fired into a crowded street party in which two civilians wounded were of age 62 and 11.
The Police records stated particularly before the violent Sunday, there were six other shootings, none fatal, on Friday, and 15 shootings, one fatal, on Saturday.

The Chicago shootings have come down by 30 percent from 2017, and murders are down by 25 percent, said Waller.

And according to Experts, crime tends to increase during the hot summer months.
