Cong. has become small party for dumping BCs: TRS

Hyderabad: TRS MP Dr B Narsaiah Goud today said AICC Chief Rahul Gandhi should not have given a hug to Prime Minister Narendra Modi during Parliament session which created a sort of sensation across the country. He said he would contest in the next elections as for Lok Sabha.

Addressing the media in Delhi, the MP said Rahul Gandhi should have hugged BC and SC MPs as the previous Congress governments dumped them for decades. The Congress, which claims to be a national party has deceived the BCs and ignored their welfare only to become a small party in several States, he alleged. Narsaiah Goud also sought to know what the Congress will get by doing injustice to the BCs in the country. There was a need for proportionate quota for the BCs in the Telangana State, he stressed.

Narsaiah Goud accused the Congress leaders of deceiving the BCs and SCs for a long time and failed to give them proper quota. Though then VP Singh government constituted Mandal Commission providing quota for BCs, the Congress governments later dumped them, he claimed. The Congress diluted in Rajya Sabha a bill pertaining to provide constitutional status to the National Commission for BCs, he alleged. Referring to the BC quota, Goud said the BJP Government at the Centre should approve the demand of the Telangana Government. (NSS)
