New Delhi: Bhola Singh, Member of Parliament of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from Bulandshahr, claimed on Thursday that a policeman was seen resorting to lathicharge following which protesters turned violent in the Bulandshahr incident on December 3. Two persons, including an Inspector rank officer of the Uttar Pradesh Police, died in the violence.
“I have come across a video where a policeman is saying that protesters became violent only after police resorted to lathicharge. Why such a situation arose that general public was lathicharged instead of pacifying him?” Singh told ANI.
On December 3, Inspector Subodh Kumar Singh was killed in the violence following carcasses of allegedly 25 cattle were found in the forests close to a police post, with locals alleging that the carcasses were of cows slaughtered illegally.
