MEERUT: A day after video showing police personnel, including a woman constable abusing and slapping a 20-year-old Hindu woman for befriending Muslim went viral, the girl said she said that the cops pressurized her to file a false rape case against her friend.
Speaking to Times OF India, she told to have gone to her friend’s rented house in Jagriti Vihar just to exchange class notes.
Narrating her ordeal, the female nursing student said, “While I was waiting at the police station for my family to arrive, cops forced me to file a rape case against my friend. They told me that they would let me walk free only if I listened to them. Later, the policemen gave the same advice to my family.”
On the day of the incident, VHP activists suddenly allegedly barged and dragged the Muslim youth out of the house and locked the door from outside, leaving the girl shocked and terrified.
“Later police arrived and took my friend and me to the station in two separate vans behaved so badly with me and my friend. They also used filthy language to address me,” the girl said.
In the video, which went viral on social media, the police personnel including a female constable first grilled about her whereabouts and used harsh language on the woman asking her why she befriended a Muslim.
“Mullah zyada pasand aaraha?” (Are you finding Muslims better?), and also resorting to physical violence.

The video has caused widespread criticism among Twitter verse, who has lambasted the police for their remarks and misbehavior with the woman.
Three police personnel includes head constable Salek Chand, constable Neetu Singh and a woman constable Priyanka have been suspended after a video of the incident went viral.
A home guard is likely to be suspended too.
