Cricket bookie arrested

Hyderabad: Task force police of west zone arrested a person who allegedly involved in cricket betting in Boraband area.

On a credible information the police apprehended one cricket betting organizers by name M.Ravi, while he was accepting cricket betting in the limits of SR Nagar Police Station from the known and unknown punters directly and indirectly i.e., over cell phones. Police also seized a cash of Rs 80, 300 and other electronic equipments.

The accused M.Ravi hatched a plan to organize Cricket betting and to collect the betting amounts directly and indirectly i.e. through cell phones from the punters in Hyderabad. Since one year he is organizing Cricket betting. He is collecting and distributing the amounts of betting from nearly 25 to 30 punters in twin cities on ongoing IPL-2018 Cricket Match in between Chennai Super Kings Vs Royal Challengers Bangalore teams playing at Pune on held on May 5.

The apprehended accused along with seized property was handed over to the SHO, SR Nagar PS, Hyderabad for further action.

The raid was conducted under the supervision of P.Radha Kishan Rao, Dy. Commissioner of Police, Commissioner’s Task Force, by B.Gattu Mallu, Inspector of Police, West Zone Team with the assistance of SIs L.Bhaskar Reddy, M.Prabhakar Reddy, P.Mallikarjun, V.Kishore and the Staff of West Zone Team, Commissioner’s Task.
