De Kock, Amla help Proteas thrash Bangladesh in Kimberley

Kimberley [South Africa]: Blistering centuries by Quinton de Kock and Hashim Amla helped South Africa claim a thumping 10-wicket win over Bangladesh in the first ODI of the three-match series here at the Diamond Oval on Sunday.

Chasing 279 to win, De Kock (168*) and Amla (110*) came out with a master-class and never allowed Bangladesh to be on top of them.

The wicketkeeper-batsman brought his 13th ODI ton in just 100 balls, while Amla also reached the milestone in 100 balls.

Earlier, Mushfiqur Rahim scored an undefeated 110 off 116 to help his side post a respectful 278/7.

Kagiso Rabada was the pick of the bowlers for the home side with the speedster taking 4/43.

The two teams will now lock horns in the second ODI in Paarl on Wednesday. (ANI)
