Dilsukhnagar temple blast accused brought to Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Sleuths of Telangana State Crime Investigation Department (CID) on Tuesday shifted Mohammed Shafique Mujawar, an accused in the 2002 Sai Baba temple blast case in Dilsukhnagar, to Hyderabad from Delhi. CID is likely to seek his police custody for further investigation of the case.

He was produced before the Metropolitan Courts at Nampally upon which he was sent to judicial custody and later shifted Chanchalguda jail.

According to the sources Mujawar who was staying in Yemen for a longtime, was allegedly involved in the blast. As a Red Corner Notice was issued against him, the Interpol detained the alleged terror suspect after he was deported him from Qatar. A team of CID officials went to New Delhi and brought him to the city.

Blast took place in front of the Sai Baba temple on November 21, 2002. The accused used a scooter to place tiffin bombs and parked the vehicle near the temple.

The Saroonagar police, under whose jurisdiction the temple comes, initially registered a case but keeping in view the sensitivity of the case, the case was transferred to the CID.
