Warangal: TRS Youth Wing Mandal President and his associates allegedly gang-raped an 18-year-old Engineering first year student on December 30.
According to the report published in TOI, incident came to light when police picked up the youth wing leader from Sayampet mandal, K Rinakar, for questioning.
Meanwhile, District TDP President, Gandra Satyanarayana, claimed that the girl and her boyfriend approached him for protection. He also demanded police to investigate the alleged involvement of a top TRS leader’s son.
Talking to media, Satyanarayana claimed that the couple had approached him on 31st December seeking help. He also claimed that the son of a very influential TRS leader was also involved in the incident.
Narrating the incident, victim’s boyfriend, Vinay, said that he along with the victim were going to Mylaram village on 30th December when Rinakar and some of his friends warned him that the girl’s parents are searching for her and then offered to drop her home safely. He also claimed that initially they refused but when he threatened of exposing their friendship, she agreed. However, she was taken to some hillocks and was raped.
