New Delhi: Evil of mob lynching has reached the national capital as well. In a horrific incident, a 16-year-old boy was lynched by locals for burglary attempt. The incident occurred in north-west Delhi’s Mukundpur in the early hours of Tuesday. The boy allegedly entered a house to steal valuables. Neighbours came in on hearing the shouts of the owners. They all thrashed the teenager for about two hours.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (North-West) Aslam Khan, police arrested two out of six accused who were identified as brothers Nand Kishore, Raj Kishore, and Triveni, all auto drivers; and neighbours Deshraj, Sohan Lal and Sant Lal. Nand and Raj have been arrested while Triveni and the three neighbours are absconding.

The attackers thrashed the boy heavily before throwing him out of the house. Neighbours spotted his body at around 6 a.m.

The teenager had come to Delhi from Kanpur only 20 days ago. He was studying in a madrasa. His 46-year-old father is a daily wage labourer working in Noida and his mother lives in Bihar.

Minor’s elder brother Shahid who works as plumber told that he found the body of his brother on Tuesday on the street behind his house. His left leg was bruised and there were injury marks all over the body.
