Health Minister Dr C Lakshma Reddy today said roads in rural areas are getting a facelift with the government’s keenness to upgrade them.

The minister laid foundations for various developmental works and roads worth Rs 4 crore in various villages under his Jadcherla Assembly constituency in Mahbubnagar district here. Speaking on the occasion, the minister said the TRS Government, in three-and-a-half years, has been spending huge amounts for welfare, development, projects, facilities and infrastructure. The roads are getting a priority and funds were being spent to provide better transportation, he said.

Laxma Reddy exhorted people to develop with the schemes and support the leadership of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. Taking cue from Chief Minister KCR, the State government was laying roads in the State to reflect like mirror, Lakshma Reddy said, adding rural development was possible through better roads and the government was ready to uplift the villages in a phased manner. The government was pressing officials to lay roads essentially in all villages, Lakshma Reddy said. He also slammed the previous governments for failing to lay roads in the villages. The MLAs could not develop roads during five-year term during the past governments, he charged. (NSS)
