Festival of Languages at OU on Feb. 21

On the occasion of International Mother Language Day on February 21, the UGC-UPE Centre for Advance Research and Training in Translation & Multilingualism (CART-T&M), OU is organizing a ‘Festival of Languages’ at the University College of Arts and Social Sciences. The festival will cover Indian, international, and endangered languages.

 

Following are some of the events to be held as part of the festival: A seminar on “Linguistic Diversity and Multilingualism”, A multilingual poetry reading session by students, A power point presentation by students on scheduled languages ,Debate by students on “Mother Tongue or Other Tongue?”,Poster presentations by students on Indian and international languages,Exhibition of scripts of different languages and Dance by students on endangered languages of Telangana.

 

Meanwhile, OU Vice-Chancellor Prof. S. Ramachandram felicitated Prof. G. Gopal Reddy, Professor of Political Science (Retd.) on his assuming charge as the Member, UGC, New Delhi. The function took place at the Vice-Chancellor’s chambers, Administrative Building, OU. Deans, Principals, Directors participated. OU Registrar Prof. Ch. Gopal Reddy, OSD to VC Prof. R. Limbadri participated in the function. (NSS)
