Fire accident at Numaish: HC slams Exhibition Society

Hyderabad: High Court of Telangana slammed Exhibition Society and State Fire Service for not making proper arrangements on the exhibition ground. The court observed that every day, nearly 30000 persons visit the exhibition and on holidays, the figure touches 80000.

The court questioned the fire service authority whether four trucks and four bullet vehicles are sufficient to meet any unforeseen calamity.

The two member bench consisting of Justice Raghavender Singh Chauhan and Justice T Amarnath was hearing the PIL filed by Khaja Aijazuddin, Advocate.

Director General of Fire Services and Disaster Response Force apprised the court the precautionary measures and the steps taken for shifting the persons and articles.

Commissioner of GHMC was directed to file an affidavit giving the details of infrastructure on the basis of which exhibition society was given permission.

DGP of Fire Services was directed to provide additional fire tenders and sufficient staff. DGP was also instructed to post extra police force. The next hearing is scheduled for 25th February.
