Fire erupts in rubber factory at Patancheru

A huge fire engulfed Agarwal rubber factory in Patancheru Industrial Area in the district early hours. Seven fire tenders rushed to the spot and extinguished the fire in more than four hours. However, the fire fighters were still working at the site.

A square kilometer area around the industry was enveloped in thick smoke and the fear-stricken people in the locality took to heels. According to the information, a drum containing inflammable chemicals exploded and caused fire.

Meanwhile, Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy visited the spot and enquired about the incident. He sought a detailed report on the incident. Similar fire accident was reported in the same industry during last January. (NSS)
