Ganesh immersion: Xylo hits parked lorry, one killed in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: One person killed and four got injured in an incident in Hyderabad’s Kukatpally. Five people were on their way to participate in Ganesh immersion festivities when they met with the accident.

The mishap occurred on Monday at 12.30am as the Xylo car hit the lorry from the rear.
Kukatpally police said that Ramagiri Venu, 34, died on the spot after suffering head injuries and multiple fractures, reports Times of India.

The others, who got critically injured were shifted to a hospital. The victim was a resident of Borabanda and worked as a driver. Ramagiri was sitting next to the driver’s seat died when the car hit the other vehicle.

“The passengers in the Xylo car were coming from the Balanagar area and were heading to the IDL water body. At D-Mart they took a U-turn and a few meters ahead they went on to hit the lorry,” the Kukatpally police told.

Officials said that Ramagiri and his friends decided to assemble at one point and then head to IDL to partake in immersion festivities. “After analysing the accident scene, it looks as if their car was traveling at a high speed,” the police said.

The front left of the car was completely crushed and the air bags opened, but were of little use. The locals who witnessed the accident reached the spot and alerted the police.
Based on the complaint given by Ramagiri’s family members, a case was registered under 304-a (rash and negligent driving) of the IPC.
