Ghani says terrorists deserve total destruction post mosque attacks

Kabul: Afghanistan’s President, Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, on Saturday strongly condemned Friday’s deadly mosque bombings in Kabul and in western Ghor province, which left more than 70 people dead and 200 injured.

He said the terror attacks on two holy places as well as on other places was inhuman and against all values and principles of Islam.

Khamma Press quoted Ghani as further saying that perpetrators of such attacks only deserve total destruction.

He claimed that terrorist groups are attempting to misuse Islam as a tool to reach to their targets of sparking tensions among the people and harm the unity of the Afghan people.

He said terrorist groups should understand that they will never achieve their goals and will soon be eliminated by the Afghan security and defense forces.

A suicide bomber detonated his explosives among the prayer participants West of Kabul late on Friday evening, leaving at least 39 dead and 43 others wounded, according to the ministry of interior.

A second attack left more than 20 people dead and several others wounded in western Ghor province of Afghanistan. (ANI)
