GHMC planning a big drive in the city over waste segregation

Hyderabad: Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has been planning an intensive campaign programme for spreading awareness among citizens about waste management. The GHMC is trying to include 10 lakh students across educational institutes in their drive to create awareness on dry and wet waste segregation, which is one of the issues out of 10 others.

According to a report by Telangana Today, GHMC Commissioner B Janardhan Reddy during a felicitation programme organized by United Federation of Residential Welfare Association (UFERWAS) at Harihara Kala Bhavan on Thursday had shared that the municipal corporation aims to cover one crore people in the awareness campaign.

Reddy expressed happiness over prestigious Solid Waste Management award that GHMC had received earlier in this month. During the event, the best workers were also felicitated by GHMC Commissioner. The best workers were kept under categories such as Best Swachh Auto Driver, Sweeper, Sanitation Supervisor and others in each circle.
