Gurukul Athletic Academy soon: Srihari

Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari today said the State government will encourage games and sports in a big way and students should compete to win.

He was speaking after launching State-level Sports competitions at Social Welfare Gurukul School premises of Rayaparti in Warangal district here along with TRS leaders Errabelli Dayakar Rao, Gurukul Secretary RS Pravin Kumar and officials.

Speaking on the occasion, Srihari said the State government will set up Telangana Gurukul Athletic Academy and launch a degree college in Rayaparti school campus next year. He wished the students excel in sports as well as in education and serve the society on getting jobs. He also said the government was giving quality education and better facilities in the schools and colleges and spending Rs 38 on every student every day.

As against 296 Gurukul schools during combined State, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has started 546 Gurukul Schools against the demand for 125, he explained. “This was to boost education system in the state of Telangana and offer better education to the poor and needy,” he remarked. (NSS)
