NEW DELHI: A 40-year-old leader of a Hindutva outfit and two of his associates held for faking attack his own vehicle attacked to get his police security cover back again.
According to the report of the Indian Express, Kali Kumar, State secretary of Hanuman Sena in an oral complaint to police falsely claimed that two unidentified persons hurled petrol bombs at his car at Sholavaram Highway, about 23 km from Chennai city.
A police has found in its investigation that the leader of the Hanuman Sena orchestrated the attack on his own vehicle to sought protection.
Four months ago, his police security, which he has been enjoying since 2016 has been withdrawn due to his bad conduct.
Police have alleged that Kumar, along with his 34-year-old friend Gnanasekaran and his elder brother’s son Ranjith, 24 on being grilled admitted to burned the Ambassador car and faked the attack.
“When we found some mischief in their story, we started questioning them. Forensic experts examined the spot and charred remains of the Ambassador car led to contradicting facts. Finally, they confessed that they had done it for police protection for the leader,” a senior officer said, reported Indian Express.
Kumar, his Gunasekaran and nephew Ranjith were booked under Sections 436 and 420 of IPC.
Kumar, who is also involved in scrap business, has been associated with many other Hindu organizations before this.
