How Dakota Johnson transformed into a world-class dancer for ‘Suspiria’

Washington: Dakota Johnson has opened up about the incredible transformation she had to undergo for her role in the much-anticipated horror flick ‘Suspiria’.

Johnson plays the role of Susie Bannion, a world-class dancer, who is sucked into a dance company run by a coven of witches.

“It started about two years before we starting filming, when Luca asked me if I would do the film with him,” Johnson told Variety at the film’s Los Angeles premiere.

“Then a year before we started filming, I started training with different trainers and coaches to shape my body and teach my muscles how to move in the way of a dancer,” she further added.

Before this, the film’s director Luca Guadagnino had revealed the unique yet unusual transformation of another cast member, Tilda Swinton.

In addition to ‘Fifty Shades Darker’ actor’s transformation into a ballerina, actor Tilda Swinton plays two completely different characters in the film, a witch and an 82-year-old man named Dr. Josef Klemperer.

Guadagnino said he knew Swinton would deliver an unforgettable performance. “I think that with Tilda, it’s always about having fun and exploring things in a playful way,” he had said.

Famous Italian director Dario Argento’s original ‘Suspiria’ created a world of darkness in late 1970s Germany with wild images of gore, fear, and terror. Meanwhile, Guadagnino’s version of the film digs in deeper on the story, delivering a wickedly twisted tale of the sense of reality and horror.

The horror movie will release on November 2 worldwide.
