Hyderabad: It is essential to get rid of old RTC buses which are plying in the city. They emit smoke which is injurious to health. It may create many health hazards. State Govt. is taking many steps to eradicate pollution but RTC has not been taking any steps in this regard.
It may be mentioned that earlier, RTC had made an announcement that all the old buses will be withdrawn from the city but it did not implement it. CM of TS, Mr. KCR had announced that electric buses would be used in the city to reduce pollution. It is also reported that RTC has placed an order for purchasing 500 electric buses.
Authentic sources revealed that a report has already been submitted to the Government about the pollution caused by old RTC buses. Govt. is understood to have instructed RTC to withdraw old buses in a phased manner.
