Hyderabad: In a bizarre incident, an unknown person set an ATM in Hyderabad on fire. The incident occurred on Sunday. He left behind a 17-page letter, in which he asked people to shun caste and religious system to change the world.

He doused the IOB ATM at Kukatpally Housing Board (KPHB) Phase-I with fuel at around 3.25 am and set the machine and some furniture on fire, leaving around Rs 70,000 cash in the machine reduced to ashes.

Locals alerted the police after noticing the flames. However, the machine was totally gutted before the police arrived. A 17-page letter was found in one corner of the ATM centre.

According to KPHB police inspector Kushalkar, the unknown person professed that every person must have only a single car or bike. He also stated that people should live with humanity and protest against racism. Every individual must fight against caste system and religious issues.

Strangely he threatened t to commit suicide if contents of the letter were not made public.
