Hyderabad: Member of Chaddi gang held in Gujarat

Rachakonda Special Operations Team detectives arrested Khaju Mavoji, an absconding member of the Chaddi gang of Gujarat. He had gone absconding after obtaining bail in 2011 and was now caught.

The SOT special team, following technical clues and utilising its intelligence network, went to Dahod and nabbed him from the Garbada bus-stand with the help of the local police. He was earlier arrested by the LB Nagar police in 2011, but jumped out on bail and continued to commit offences.

He was produced in a court there and brought to the city on a transit warrant. “We are very confident of apprehending Parmar Megzi and Parmar Sanjay, who are absconding,” said the official.

According to the SOT, the gang was involved in a total of nine cases in Rachakonda, four in Cyberabad, one in Hyderabad and 15 in Andhra Pradesh. Officials said efforts are on to nab two other absconding gang members Megzi Parmar and Sanjay Parmar at the earliest.

He is shifted to Hyderabad on a prisoner transit warrant, where he was remanded in judicial custody.
