Hyderabad Metro Rail: 2599 pillars constructed – No service for Old City?

Hyderabad: Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) has completed construction of 2599 pillars in the past seven years.

According to the report published in DC, these pillars were constructed as a part of the phase-I project. Managing Director of HMRL, Mr. N.V.S. Reddy said that L&T has created a world record. He said that on an average, one pillar was constructed in one day.

No Metro Rail Service for Old City?

Pillar and other infrastructure needed for Metro Rail Service was constructed in many parts of Hyderabad except Old City.

The question arises, “Why Metro Rail Service is not yet made available in Old City of Hyderabad?” Is it due to the vested interest of some elements who don’t want to lose their valuable properties due to the service?
