Hyderabad: School Admissions process in the city’s private schools for the next academic year 2018—2019 have begun with a 15 percent fee hike.
Parent Hridesh Gupta who visited various schools to get the fee structure for the admission in to the schools said, “I visited a few schools and found that almost all schools have hiked the fee by 10 to 15 per cent for the next academic year. A few schools have also tied up with vendors for selling books, bags and uniform. Due to lack of good government schools, parents are forced to choose private schools, which are a money minting machine.”
He added, “I have many friends who decided to have just a single child as they cannot afford the school fees.” Ashish Naredi, a member from the Hyderabad School Parents’ Association, said, “I really fail to understand what the government is doing. It will be a betrayal of the election promises if the TRS government allows schools to get away with another fee hike.”
