India gets Christian Michel in exchange for runaway Dubai princess Latifa

New Delhi: In a strange decision, United Arab Emirates swapped British arms dealer for Dubai’s Princess Latifa. The sensational claim has been made by an English daily The Telegraph. 57-year-old, Christian Michel is among the 3 accused in helicopter scam. Regarding him, CBI has claimed that he had accepted bribes from the politicians in 2013 luxury helicopter deal.

According to The Telegraph, British arms consultant at the centre of a bribery scandal over a helicopter deal in India was exchanged for a runaway Dubai princes in an extraordinary quid pro quo extradition.

Christian Michel was extradited from the United Arab Emirates last month to face police over the helicopter deal. He has been handed over to India in an exchange for Princess Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed al-Maktoum. The 33-year-old daughter of Dubai’s billionaire ruler was intercepted by the Indian Coast Guard when she was attempting to flee her gilded prison lifestyle in the UAE to travel to the US.
