Mr. Salman Khurshid is supporting Mr. Arif Mohammed Khan for the post of President of India Islamic Centre, New Delhi.
Mr. Kamal Farooqui, member of Muslim Personal Law Board and other Muslim dignitaries are also extending their support to him. The last date for filing nominations was 15th November. The present incumbent Mr. Sirajuddin Quraishi who has been holding the office of President for the past 15 years has also filed his nomination. Earlier, he had defeated Mr. Salman Khursheed and Dr. Shakeel-ur-Zaman Ansari. It is being presumed that it is very difficult to defeat Mr. Quraishi but the way Mr. Khan is mustering support, the contest is going to be tough and also interesting.
Mr. Mohammed Adeeb desires a change in the culture in which important Muslim dignitaries will formulate a strategy in this regard.
