Israeli troops kill four more Palestinians as protests continue in Gaza

Gaza: The Israel forces killed four more Palestinians and injured more than 700 as Israeli army on Friday fired upon on them while they staged their weekly protest, Palestine’s Health Ministry said. According to the latest official data from the Gaza Health Ministry, at least 36 Palestinians were killed by Israeli fire since the beginning of the “Great March of Return”.

According to Scroll.in, the Palestinian ambassador at the United Nations accused Israel of “cruelty of their occupation machine, responding to the calls of unarmed civilians for freedom and justice with brutal and lethal force”.

Protesters had gathered early in the morning at the five camps deployed along the Gazan-Israeli border to participate in demonstrations. Israeli Defence Forces used live ammunition on unarmed protesters during their demonstrations.

Around 30,000 Palestinians on March 31, had begun a six-week-long protest in Gaza demanding that refugees be allowed to return to their homes that are now in Israel. The protest is scheduled to end on May 15.

United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, as well as the European Union’s foreign affairs chief Federica Mogherini, urged for a transparent investigation into the use of live ammunition by the Israeli military.
