Jeff Bezos is world’s richest in modern history, here’s what he is worth

New York: Jeff Bezos’s net worth broke $150 billion in New York on Monday morning, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. That’s about $55 billion more than Microsoft Corp. co-founder Bill Gates, the world’s second-richest person.

The Amazon.com Inc. founder, 54, has now topped Gates who stand 2nd with 95.5 Bn in inflation-adjusted terms. The $100 billion mark that Gates hit briefly in 1999 at the height of the dot-com boom would be worth about $149 billion in today’s dollars. That makes the Amazon chief executive officer richer than anyone else on earth since at least 1982, when Forbes published its inaugural wealth ranking.

Warren Buffet, one of the most successful investors in the world, trailed in the third place with a total of wealth of USD 83 billion, while Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg stands forth with 82.9 billion.

Bezos officially became the richest person in the world earlier this year, and his business behemoth of online retailing, Amazon, grew into the second most valuable company in the world after Apple.
