‘Jerusalem is a ‘red line’ for all Muslims’, Erdogan warns to sever ties with Israel

Turkey’s president Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Tuesday strongly condemned Trumps decision to recognize Jerusalem as the Israeli capital. Jerusalem is a “red line” for all Muslims, he claimed. We once again warn the U.S. against a decision that would only deepen the problems in the region,” he added.

Stressing that the decision would come as a heavy blow amid the human rights violations and oppression in the region, Erdogan said Turkey will follow the developments until the very end as the term president of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

Erdogan warned to cut off diplomatic relations with Israel, if such a step is to be taken and announced to gather the OIC leaders in Istanbul within five to 10 days. Claiming that it is not a trivial issue, Erdogan said “We will certainly continue our struggle here until the very last moment.”
