J&K is not a terror affected State, says J&K Tourism Minister

Hyderabad: Terrorism is an international issue. A State, a country is not facing it alone but almost all the countries of the world are getting affected by it.

Ms. Priya Sethi, Tourism Minister of J&K was in Hyderabad recently. Addressing a press conference here, she told that defaming Kashmir as a terrorist affected State is not true. During the past one year, not a single criminal case of terrorist activities against the tourist has occurred.

Ms. Sethi further told that Central and State Govt. are taking many steps to promote tourism in the State. If the statistics of the tourists during the year 2017 is reviewed, it will be revealed that more than one crore tourists visited the valley.

Mr. Sarmad Hafeez, Secretary, Dept. of Tourism of J&K and other officials were also present in the press conference.

The Minister further told that many steps are taken to control terrorist activities in J&K. It is not appropriate to confine terrorist activities only to Kashmir. If the political protests and differences are treated as the law and order issues, it is also not true. These issues should be taken as positive that democracy is stable in the State.

Mr. Hafeez told that there is no danger for tourists in J&K. He invited Telugu Film Industry people for shooting in Kashmir. He further told that arrangements are made for issuing permission under a single window system.
