Kathua rape & murder case: supplementary charge sheet filed before Pathankot Court

Srinagar: A supplementary charge sheet has been filed by the Jammu and Kashmir Police’s Crime Branch on Monday before a Pathankot court in connection with the rape and murder case of an eight-year-old girl in Kathua.

According to the sources, the charge sheet was submitted before District and Sessions Judge Tejwinder Singh by the Senior Superintendent of Police (Crime Branch) R.K. Jalla along with the Special Public Prosecutor J.K. Chopra and other lawyers.

Ram, Vishal and his juvenile nephew, two special police officers Deepak Khajuria alias ‘Dipu’ and Surender Verma and friend Parvesh Kumar alias Mannu have been arrested in the case by the crime branch. Head Constable Tilak Raj and Sub-Inspector Anand Dutta, have also been arrested on the charges of taking ₹4 lakh from Ram for destroying crucial evidence.

The supplementary charge sheet stated that Kumar was not only in constant touch with co-accused Khajuria, but also in contact with Raj, who is believed to have played a pivotal role in striking a deal between Ram and the police for destruction of evidence.
