Hyderabad: TRS MP of Nizamabad, Ms. K. Kavitha tendered an apology for calling Muslims ‘birds’.
It may be mentioned that Ms. Kavitha in her public meeting held at Nizamabad had said that Muslims are like ‘birds’. If someone calls them with love, they go to him. They are good-natured people.
Later, in her address at Jagtiyal, she tendered apology saying that her intention was not to insult the Muslims.
It may be mentioned that after Kavitha’s remarks made in Nizamabad meeting, Muslims were irritated. TRS Party also did not clarify this issue.
Maulana Jafar Pasha had expressed his displeasure about Ms. Kavitha in the presence of Dy. CM Mohammed Mahmood Ali. Sensing the wrath of the Muslims, Mr. Mahmood Ali persuaded Ms. Kavitha to tender an apology.
While tendering an apology, Ms. Kavitha told that if any Muslim brother or sister got hurt due to her remarks, she apologizes. She further told that someone had mentioned to her that birds offer prayer during the night time and hence she made a reference in that context.
The local residents of Jagtiyal welcomed the apology tendered by Ms. Kavitha.
Present in the meeting were Mr. Mohammed Mahmood Ali and other Muslim dignitaries.
