KCR asked to Lift Ban on Indira Park Dharna Chowk

Hyderabad: Several Left Parties have demanded the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to lift the ban on Indira Park Dharna Chowk while taking note of the Supreme Court verdict on Jantar Mantar. The Left Parties warned KCR that they will intensify their movement on it in case he failed to lift the ban on Dharna Chowk.

On Friday, Dharna Chowk Parirakshana Committee meeting was held at Maqdhoom Bhavan under the chairmanship of CPI state secretary Chada Venkat Reddy. DG Narasimha Rao (CPM), K Goverdhan (CPI ML New Democracy), K Ravichander (Telangana Praja Front), Dr Cheruku Sudhakar (Telangana Inti Party), Prof. PL Vishweshwar Rao (Telangana Jana Samithi), Ch Murahari (SUCI), B Veeraiah, Sayyed Tariq Quadri (Sufi Academy), Sajaya (social activist), Janardhan (BC Welfare Association), Vanam Sudhakar (MCPI-U), Mohammed Abbas (Awaz), Dharna Chowk Parirakshana Committee co-ordinator Dr Sudhakar and others participated in the meeting.

Speaking on the occasion, Chada Venkat Reddy said that the Dharna Chowk Parirakshana Committee welcomed the Supreme Court verdict, which clearly stated that nobody could obstruct the people to express their opinions and the people have the right to stage dharnas at Jantar Mantar and Boats Club. While referring to Supreme Court verdict, Chada demanded KCR to lift the ban on Indira Park Dharna Chowk. He informed that they will convene a conference on August 11 at 2 PM at Somajiguda on Dharna Chowk issue and will announce its future course of action plan. He said that they will submit memorandums to Chief Minister, Chief Secretary and Governor before August 11, the day they will conduct a conference. (NSS)
