Konda Surekha revolts against TRS

Hyderabad: Senior leader Konda Surekha has revolted against the TRS party accusing it of insulting her by denying ticket to contest the next Assembly elections.

Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, Konda Surekha pointed out that her name did not figured in the list of 105 TRS candidates announced by caretaker Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao after dissolving the Telangana Assembly on September 6. She said had a good track-record of winning four times. However, her name was not included in the list of candidates, which included 12 seats from Warangal district.

Surekha said that she was promised a cabinet berth in KCR’s cabinet when she joined the TRS. However, the promise was not fulfilled while blaming Minister K. Tarakarama Rao for the same. She said Telangana was the only State in the country which had no woman in the cabinet.

She said that the decision of KCR to dissolve Assembly and advance the elections was wrong.

Surekha also alleged that the State Government has been keeping an eye on all her movements and her phones were being tapped. Giving a deadline of two days for the TRS to give an explanation on why she was denied a ticket, she said she would take a decision on her next move soon.
