Hyderabad: Mr. Kanhaiya Kumar, former President of JNU Students’ Union asked the questions on the election activities of Telangana and said that people are asking TRS for extending blind support to Modi Govt. on demonization, GST and Triple Talaq bill. TRS did not fulfill its promise of providing 12% reservation to the Muslims. Why should people support this party, he asked.
Mr. Kanhaiya Kumar was addressing election meeting in Malakpet Assembly constituency at Akbar Bagh to muster support in favour of TDP candidate, Mr. Muzaffar Ali Khan.
Former CPI MP of Rajya Sabha, Mr. Aziz Pasha, General Secretary of TPCC, Mr. Vijay Simha Reddy and others also addressed the gathering.
Referring to partition of India, Mr. Kanhaiya Kumar told that it was the biggest genocide. At that time, some people were opposing partition whereas Muslim league and Hindu Mahasabha were talking of partition but the tragic thing is both these parties came together to form Govt. later. Now, the same story is being repeated, he alleged.
One political party is saying, ‘we will save the Hindus’, whereas, the other party claims to save the Muslims.
Addressing the people of Hyderabad, Mr. Kanhaiya Kumar said, ‘we want a party which gives an assurance that it will save the country’. He appealed to the people to cast their votes in favour of greater alliance.
Appreciating Urdu culture of Hyderabad, Mr. Kanhaiya Kumar said that Hyderabad is the city of Urdu and the people of this city gave him a lot of affection. He said that the assembly elections of five states will set the trend for Parliamentary elections next year.
He bitterly criticized Modi for maintaining silence on the killing of Akhlaq and other persons.
Mr. Mohammed Muzaffar Ali Khan, TDP candidate of Malakpet Constituency thanked Mr. Kanhaiya Kumar for his support and said that the leaders of the local party who are famous for spreading hatred in the North India forgot that it is not the tradition of the Muslims. Islam preaches that we should not criticize other religion since in turn they will criticize our religion. With the announcement of election program, BJP Phobia is created in order to get Muslim votes.
