Meet Maqbool Ahmed who provides free food to poors

Bhopal: Maqbool Ahmed Mansoori proved that humanity still alive in this world. Daily, he provides food to a large number of beggars, homeless and destitute persons.

According to the report published in The Statesman, Maqbool (55) started his “Langar-e-Aam” 5 years ago. He provides quality food to more than 200 needy persons daily. This service is open for all irrespective of religion or caste.

It may be mentioned that Maqbool runs a small café by name ‘Naaz Hotel’ which is located outside Nadra bus stand, Bhopal.

Talking about himself, Mansoori made it clear that he is not a very rich person. He said that God has chosen him to provide food to the poor persons. He further said that he started this “Langer” on 1st May 2013.

Giving the details of the food which he serves at his langer, he said that rice, vegetables and rotis are provided.

Speaking about the difficulties he faced initially, Maqbool said that he used to spend entire earnings to run the langer. However, later, other persons also started helping him by providing grains and vegetables in bulk.

Almost every day, Ramesh Singh, a septuagenarian Sikh brings rotis to langer. Another person by name Sameer cooks food at langar daily.

Talking about the langer, One of the beggars said that although he is too old to work and homeless, he doesn’t have to think about his food daily.

It may be noted that Mansoori wants to start more such langers across the city.
