Movie on 26/11 attack criticised for not including the role of Pakistan

The Western motion picture which made a movie on Mumbai attacks which took place on November 26, 2008, has come under criticism for ignoring any reference to the role of Pakistan in the terror attack.

The film, Hotel Mumbai, is being directed by Australian Antony Maras, it focuses on the attackers laying siege to the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel one of several targets in Mumbai during the terrorist attack

The terror operation was carried out by members of the terrorist organization called Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), and the attackers, including those in the hotel, were directed from Pakistan. However, the film at no point recognises the attackers as Pakistanis, nor is there any reference to the LeT or ISI.

Though Maras did describe the handlers as being from Pakistan, that was the extent of the connection.

When Maras was asked about the exclusion of David Coleman Headley’s role, a Pakistani-American who investigated and identified the target area’s for the attack, He said the movie focuses on the period of the attacks when such details were not yet known.
