Gonda: Shaher Banu, w/o Ameer Khan, Saira Begum w/o Musheer Khan, Sabrunnisa w/o Iqbal, Husna Banu w/o Raushan residents of Karnailganj tehsil of Gonda district, are being forced to vacate their houses. Pradhan of the village and MLA Bawan Singh also are pressurizing the administration to threaten them to vacate the houses. The women staged dharna before the magistrate’s residence.
The affected families told media persons that they are living here since 1984. The land which they are asked to vacate is recorded as meadow and nursery land. The land is given under Indira Awas and Prime Minister awas. The women argue that if the land was meadow and nursery land, how the Pradhan gave the land under government schemes.
The women further revealed that the meadow land has 9 houses of Banjaras, 6 beegha land is occupied by Thakur Prasad Tiwari, 9 beegha land is occupied by Ram Kewal and 10 beegha by Zainul Abideen but only 4 families have been asked to vacate the land.
