Ahmedabad: A perfect example of national integration was seen in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Sabarmati Riverfront had become quite filthy after recent Ganesh Visarjan. Ganesh idols were lying here and there. People belonging to Muslim community cleaned the Sabarmati Riverfront conveying the message of national integration. The video showing Muslims cleaning the Ganesh idol went viral. The Muslims belong are the residents of Jamalpur area, Ahmedabad.
Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation had banned Ganesh immersion in Sabarmati River hence pits were made near the river in which the Ganesh idols were immersed. After immersion, the water in the pits dried up and the idols of Ganesh could be seen lying here and there.
Jamalpur MLA Imran Khedawala and his team cleaned the idols and shifted them to their proper place. Municipal councillor of the area Razia Shaikh, Shahnawaz Shaikh and vice present Ahmedabad Congress minority department Omer Khan took part in the activity.
