Hyderabad: A new born boy fell from the bench in a Govt. hospital in Khammam and died. The pregnant woman was refused a bed in the hospital. She was forced to sit on a bench where she delivered a baby at mid night.
According to the details, a 20-year-old woman was got admitted in Khammam hospital by her husband N. Rajaiah. The doctors told that there is still time for her delivery and hence bed was not allotted to her. When she started labour pains at midnight, she delivered the baby on the bench itself. The newly born boy fell down from the bench and died. There was no doctor available at that time.
The Superintendent of the hospital, Madan Singh refuted the allegations and said that it was a case of premature delivery. The woman was pregnant for 8 months. There is no fault of the doctors.
