NIA begins probe in murders of TDP MLA Sarveswara Rao and Sivera soma

Visakhapatnam: After investigating the murder case of Jhakhand MLA Ramesh Munda, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) begun its probe into the murder of ruling TDP MLA Kidari Sarveswara Rao of Araku Assembly Constituency and former MLA Siveri Soma of Araku.

Jhakhand MLA Ramesh Munda was killed by Naxals in 2008, TOI reports.

The agency has also conducted the probe into Congress leader Mahendra Karma who was brutally murdered by the Maoists at Dhaba Valley in Sukma district in Chhattisgarh in 2013.

Sources revealed, the NIA officials had filed an FIR in the Vijayawada court for the investigation stating the importance of the case as the incident had taken place close to the Andhra-Orissa border area.

MLA Kidari Saveswara Rao and former MLA Soma were also hacked to death by Maoists who circled them at Livitiputu village in Dumbriguda mandal in Visakha agency on September 23 this year when they touring interior village to meet the people.

“NIA has taken the case for probe. The AP police has not asked for their probe. They initiated the probe due to the importance of case nature as there were allegations of lapses of security personnel of both states,” said a senior police officer.
