Ola encourages contribution towards Armed Forces Flag Day Fund

New Delhi : In support of the country’s Armed Forces and their families, Ola, a popular app for transportation has launched an awareness campaign to encourage its customers to contribute towards the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund.

“Ola is spreading awareness amongst millions of its customers across the country, urging them to visit www.ksb.gov.in which has been set up by the Ministry of Defence for contributions to the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund. Ola will also distribute Armed Forces Flags to the general public visiting Ola Kiosks across major cities, urging customers to contribute to the Fund during the week-long campaign,” the company said.

This week-long fundraising campaign was kickstarted by the Defence Ministry of India from December 1 and runs until the Armed Forces Flag Day which is on December 7, 2017. The contributions from the fund will be used by the Ministry to ensure rehabilitation and welfare of the dependents of our brave martyrs and disabled personnel.

“Many brave and gallant heroes from the Armed Forces have laid down their lives in the service of the country. It’s the collective duty of every citizen of our country to ensure rehabilitation and welfare of the dependents of our brave martyrs and disabled personnel. The Flag Day gives us an opportunity to contribute generously to the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund. I urge everyone to come forward to do their part,” Pranay Jivrajka, Founding Partner at Ola said.

The week-long activities will also see Ola Sainiks, which are the driver partners who have in the past worked with the Armed Forces, acting as brand ambassadors and engaging with fellow driver partners as well as Ola passengers.

‘Ola Sainik’ programme was launched earlier in partnership with Directorate General Resettlement (DGR) under the Ministry of Defence to provide opportunities to ex-servicemen for becoming micro-entrepreneurs with Ola. (ANI)
