Islamabad: Assuring Pakistan’s support for Iran’s stance regarding its nuclear deal with major world powers, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi assured visiting Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif that his country will stand with Iran during hard times. Zarif visited Pakistan on Friday.

It must be noted that both Tehran and Islamabad are struggling with fraught relationships with Washington. The United States has withdrawn from the 2015 nuclear accord in May and re-imposed sanctions on Iran.

Noting that International Atomic Energy Agency has said that Iran has adhered to the agreement, Qureshi hoped that the other nations in the accord will honour their commitments.

It must be recalled that complicated by Pakistan’s close ties with Saudi Arabia, Iran’s regional foe, relations between Pakistan and Iran have been turbulent in recent years.
