In-patient facilities at Bibinagar NIMS soon: Minister

Health Minister Dr C Lakshma Reddy today said informed to the house of the Assembly that efforts are on to develop Bibinagar NIMS Hospital on par with that of NIMS in Hyderabad. He asserted that the hospital is getting ready with all facilities, equipment and staff and in patient services will be launched in three to four months.

During question hour Lakshma Reddy was replying to queries of members P Sekhar Reddy, K Prabhakar Reddy and others on the delay of works of Bibinagar NIMS. There were some problems with regard to construction of buildings began works after 10 years and settled the issue by talking to concerned contractor, he clarified. Stating that out-patient services are getting huge response from public he said the NIMS on completion will cater to the health needs of six districts. Having launched the OP services on last March 6, he said that out of patients 16500 under OP services so far 13700 were tested.

The health minister further said that during a board meeting it was decided to upgrade the NIMS with 650 beds of super specialty hospital with 21 departments, attach post graduate institute, and run a medical college with 100 under graduate seats. He said that patch works of power and civil taken up with Rs 60 cr allocation and trying to launch in patient services with 220 beds in the hospital and the government has proposals to make use of manpower.
