Cairo: Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz in a statement in Egypt said Qatar shall not be barred from attending the Arab Summit that is scheduled later in this month, but said the standoff with Doha would surely last for a longer time.

May gulf countries like Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt have accused Qatar of forging ties with Iran and supporting militant groups along with ending bilateral ties with Qatar in June last year.

Saudi Arabia and Egypt are collaborating for a joint project worth $10 billion for an upcoming mega-city.

Both the countries have strengthened their ties since Sisi took power in 2013.

The Saudi crown prince is on a three-day visit to Cairo and is currently staying in Britain. He plans to visit the United States later this month Tribune reported.
