SC saves Democracy in Karnataka: CPI

Andhra Pradesh State CPI secretary K Ramakrishna today said the BJP has money and power, but there was no time to buy the MLAs in Karnataka and failed to form the government.

In a pressnote here on Sunday, Ramakrishna said the Supreme Court protected the democracy in Karnataka by not allowing the BJP to buy the MLAs in Karnataka State. He also demanded that Karnataka Governor Vajubhai Vala tender his resignation for acting against the Constitution. Reminding the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre that the Telugu people were alone responsible for the defeat of the BJP in Karnataka State, Ramakrishna asked the Union government to come down on the issue of special category status to Andhra Pradesh State at least now and correct its mistake.

The CPI leader also wished Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan’s Porata Yatra demanding that the Centre fulfill its assurances mentioned in the AP Reorganization Act, to be a big success. He said that his party would extend full support to Pawan Kalyan’s Rail Yatra from Itchapuram to Visakhapatnam from May 21 seeking Visakha Railway Zone. He also said the CPI would launch ‘Amaravathiki Athmagosha Yatra’ demanding that the State government render justice immediately to the Agri Gold victims on May 30 and 31. (NSS)
